The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the timetable for the 2025 June/July National Examinations Council (NECO) for school candidates in Nigeria. This key announcement marks a pivotal moment for students preparing to undertake this significant academic challenge.

EXAMINATION NOTICE TO SCHOOLS AND CANDIDATES

1. Identification Requirement: All candidates must present a photocard for identification purposes
2. Examination Timing: Where there’s a discrepancy between the timetable and question paper timing, the question paper timing takes precedence
3. Practical Examination Venues:
   • Physical Education, Auto Mechanics (Paper I)
   • French, Music, Arabic (Paper IV)
   • Confirm specific venues from NECO state offices
4. Practical Examinations: Science practicals, Stenography, Computer Studies and Data Processing may be conducted in sets when:
   • Candidate numbers are large
   • Equipment is insufficient for all candidates simultaneously
5. Creative Design (Visual Arts Paper IV): Question papers must be given to candidates at least one week before exam date
6. Welding & Fabrication/Engineering Craft: Question papers must be issued at least three weeks before examination
7. Nigerian Languages: Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Edo, Efik and Ibibio examinations include literature components
8. Special Needs Candidates:
   • Albinos and blind candidates receive additional 30 minutes per subject
   • Blind candidates must use NECO-supplied OBR customised Braille sheets
9. Practical Subjects with Advance Preparation:
   • These practical papers must be given 2 weeks in advance:
   • Dyeing and Bleaching 1B
   • Photography 1B
   • Painting and Decoration 1B
   • Printing Craft Practice 1B
   • Leather Goods Manufacturing and Repair 1B
10. Calculator Policy:
    • Only scientific calculators are permitted
    • Strict prohibition of:
    • Programmable calculators
    • Mobile phones
    • Tablets/iPads
    • Smart watches/glasses/pens
    • Other electronic communication devices
11. Practical Examination Requirement:
    • Candidates must sit for Paper I (Practical) to receive results in the subject

Important Notes:

SCHOOLS AND CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

1. FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND AUTO MECHANICS PRACTICAL PAPER I; FRENCH, MUSIC AND ARABIC PAPER IV, THE SPECIFIC VENUES FOR THE EXAMINATION SHOULD BE CONFIRMED FROM NECO OFFICES IN THE STATE.
2. PRACTICALS IN THE SCIENCES, STENOGRAPHY, COMPUTER STUDIES AND DATA PROCESSING SHOULD BE IN SETS WHERE THE NUMBER OF CANDIDATES IS LARGE AND EQUIPMENT CANNOT GO ROUND.
3. VISUAL ART PAPER IV [CREATIVE DESIGN] SHOULD BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES AT LEAST ONE WEEK TO THE EXAMINATION DAY.
4. WELDING AND FABRICATION, ENGINEERING CRAFT PRACTICE SHOULD BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES AT LEAST THREE WEEKS TO THE EXAMINATION DAY.
