ASUU Commences Indefinite Strike

The academic staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite strike following the expiration of its weeks’ warning strike over the incorporated personnel and Payroll statistics gadget and the non-implementation of the 2009 agreement.

That is coming after the National Universities Commission ordered universities throughout the country To close for a month, beginning from March 23, due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

The indefinite strike was introduced by the National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi at a press briefing in its National Secretariat, Abuja. In line with him, the government did not deal with the problems raised, as a result, the strike movement which takes impact from March 23, 2020.

Keep in mind that the Union had on 9th March declared a two-week caution strike which elapsed Monday 23 March.
