What is IJMB?

The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) program is an advanced level program that is designed to offer an alternative to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams.

The program is administered by various accredited centers across the country and it provides students with the opportunity to gain admission into 200 level in Nigerian universities.

History of IJMB Program

The IJMB program was established in 1976 by the Interim Common Services Agency (ICSA). The aim was to provide an alternative to JAMB and offer students who could not gain admission into universities through JAMB exams, another opportunity to gain admission.

How does IJMB Program work?

The IJMB program runs for a period of one academic session (9-10 months). During this period, students are taught by experienced teachers who are well-versed in the IJMB syllabus. The program is divided into two semesters and students are required to take three subjects in each semester, making a total of six subjects for the entire program.

At the end of the program, students are required to sit for an examination in their chosen subjects. The results of the examination are released a few weeks after the exams and successful candidates are awarded IJMB certificates which can be used to gain admission into 200 level in Nigerian universities.

In applying for Direct Entry admission into any university candidates must take the following into consideration:
